I really enjoyed your analysis of the East bloc economics of manufacture, it helps inform my understanding of why machines from this era seem so well built. It’s interesting how cameras advanced in the West, mainly in Japan, whereas in the East they languished - though I do like my Zorki 4 and Jupiter 8 lens. Great post!
