Hmmn, JP-2 was the larger electric (built on the JP-3 frame and sharing many parts with the JP-3) - those suckers were pretty much all metal like the JP-3's, and like the 3 and 4, were started in 1964. Never seen one in plastic. There were loads of plastic JP electric typebar machines, though. (JP-8, 10, 12, etc.) the two plastic-bodied JP manuals were the JP-5 and JP-7.
Strange. I was under the impression the electrics were their own thing. Seems there's misinformation; I will amend this blog post once I have it ready to scan. I must be thinking of the JP-5 that was in plastic, as it appears very similar mechanically to the earlier models which would have aided my (incorrect) conclusion. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteTo me they are one of the best travel typewriters made.
